Greenline Landscapes

Gardens designed for the Peninsula — built to be lived in.

Garden design, structural landscaping, decks & pergolas and year-round maintenance, from Mount Eliza to Flinders. One crew, one point of contact, design and build under the same roof.

VBA Registered Practitioner Fully insured — $20M Fixed-price quotes

A garden here has to handle sandy soil, salt wind off the bay and a hot February. We've spent fourteen years learning what actually thrives on the Peninsula — then designing around how you live, not around a catalogue.

Recent work

The proof is in the projects

Every job below was designed, built and planted by our own crew. Drag the slider to see where each garden started.

Mount Eliza

Full backyard transformation

A tired quarter-acre block with patchy kikuyu and a leaning fence, rebuilt over six weeks: merbau deck and pergola off the living room, layered native beds along the boundary and a stepping-stone path that finally makes the clothesline walk pleasant.

  • Merbau deck 42m²
  • Cypress pergola
  • Native planting
  • Garden lighting

Red Hill

Terraced hillside garden

An eroding clay slope the owners had given up mowing. We cut three terraces held by dry-stacked limestone walls, ran a bluestone stair down the fall line, and planted each level with tough coastal natives — correas, westringia and kangaroo grass — with drip irrigation throughout.

  • 3 limestone terraces
  • Engineered retaining
  • Bluestone steps
  • Drip irrigation

Merricks Beach

Coastal dune garden

Salt-hardy grasses, banksias and a raked-gravel path to the beach gate — a no-mow front yard that shrugs off the southerly.

Mornington

Alfresco deck & pergola

Spotted-gum deck with a cypress pergola, festoon lighting and built-in planters — an outdoor room used ten months of the year.

Mount Martha

Front garden & entry path

A curved gravel-and-steppers entry through massed native beds — instant street presence, and the lawn mower stays in the shed.

Flinders

Pool surrounds & hedging

Travertine coping and paving, a clipped lilly-pilly screen for the neighbours, and frost-tough potted colour — resort feel, farmhouse setting.

What we do

Four services, one accountable crew

We quote fixed prices, we handle permits and engineering where the job needs them, and the people who design your garden are the ones standing in it on build day.

Garden Design

A design that starts with your soil, aspect and how you actually use the space — not a template. We walk the site, then deliver a scaled concept plan and a planting plan matched to Peninsula conditions: sandy coastal soils, salt wind, clay pockets up on the ridge.

  • Scaled concept + planting plans
  • 3D sketches for decks & structures
  • Fixed design fee, credited if we build it

Structural Landscaping

The bones of the garden: retaining walls in timber, block or stone, paving and stonework, steps, drainage and irrigation. Walls over a metre get proper engineering and permits — we arrange both, and it's in the quote, not a surprise later.

  • Retaining walls, paving, steps
  • Drainage & irrigation systems
  • Engineering + permits handled for you

Decks & Pergolas

Merbau, spotted gum or composite decks, pergolas, screens and outdoor rooms — built to AS 1684 under our VBA registration, with council paperwork handled where it's required. Ten-year structural workmanship warranty on every build.

  • Hardwood & composite decks
  • Pergolas, louvres & privacy screens
  • 10-year structural workmanship warranty

Garden Maintenance

Scheduled fortnightly or monthly visits: pruning, hedging, mulching, feeding, irrigation checks and seasonal planting. Same two-person team each visit, a photo report after every one, and no lock-in contract — we keep the work by doing it well.

  • Fortnightly or monthly programs
  • Hedging, pruning, mulch & feeding
  • Photo report after every visit

Recent work

Outdoor work with real texture.

Gardens need turf, soil, timber, tools and planting detail — not just vector scenes.

Before/after placeholder uses the same source photo so the comparison stays visually coherent. Real client sites use true matched project photos from the same angle.

How it works

From site walk to handover

No mystery, no chasing. Four steps, and you'll always know which one you're on.

Walk the site

A free 45-minute visit. We measure, check soils and drainage, and talk about how you want to live in the space.

Design & quote

Concept plan, planting plan and one fixed price. You see exactly what you're getting before a shovel moves.

Build

Our own crew, start-to-finish — no revolving subcontractors. Tidy site every night, weekly progress photos.

Care

Handover walk-through, a plant-care guide written for your garden, and optional maintenance visits to keep it thriving.

Word of mouth

What Peninsula locals say

“The deck and garden completely changed how we use the back of the house. Dan's crew turned up when they said they would, every single day, and the site was spotless each evening. Worth every cent.”
Sarah M. Deck, pergola & garden — Mount Eliza
“We'd been quoted twice by others who wouldn't touch our slope. Greenline engineered the terraces properly, handled the permit, and the garden a year on looks better than the concept drawing.”
Greg & Lyn T. Terraced retaining & planting — Rye
“Same two blokes every fortnight, photo report after each visit, and the hedges have never looked sharper. It's the first garden service we've kept for more than a season.”
Priya K. Maintenance program — Mornington
“The design process was the difference. They asked how we entertain, where the dog runs, where the afternoon sun lands — then the quote matched the final invoice to the dollar.”
David H. Garden design & build — Balnarring
